PERRYVILLE -- Sylvia G. Mattingly died May 23, 1993, at the Perry County Nursing Home. She was 89.
She was a retired registered nurse, working as an industrial nurse for Anheiser-Busch in St. Louis.
She was born Oct. 11, 1903, to George W. Toon and Annie Hobbs Toon in Fancy Farm, Ky.
On June 2, 1937, she married Sylvester J. Mattingly in St. Louis. He died in 1984.
She is survived by two daughters, Judith Wengert of Brewer and Mary R. Bock of Perryville; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five brothers, four sisters and two sons.
She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary of Perryville and the Ladies Sodality at Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer.
A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Christ the Savior Catholic Church with the Rev. Felipe Martinez officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today at Miller Family Funeral in Perryville with a parish wake at 7 p.m. today.
