WYATT, Mo. -- Sylvia Burkstaller, 93, of Venice, Fla., died Friday, Aug. 18, 2000, in Sarasota, Fla.
She was born April 10, 1907, in Mississippi County, daughter of Charles L. and Susan Houston Hanley. She and William F. "Fred" Burkstaller were married Jan. 16, 1927. He died Sept. 28, 1984.
Burkstaller had lived in Cache, Ill., and lived most of her life in Cairo, Ill., moving to Florida in 1991. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church at Mound City, Ill.
Survivors include a son, David Burkstaller of Venice; a brother, Bob Hanley of Wickliffe, Ky.; four sisters, Dolly Walker of Newport Beach, Calif., Ellen DeJarnett of Cairo, Lucille Fite of Mound City, Frances Swank of Redlands, Calif.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston after 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Msgr. Bill McGhee officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at Mounds, Ill.
