ORAN, Mo. -- Susie Ann Cecilia Seyer, 88, of Oran died Friday, Dec. 31, 2021, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Susie Ann Bucher was born Dec. 13, 1933, the daughter of Philip and Leocadia Dirnberger Bucher in New Hamburg, Missouri. She married Elmer Joseph Seyer on April 16, 1955. Elmer and Susie were married 64 years, for which she will be crowned a saint.

Susie was a longtime member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church, where she served as the church organist, playing not only for Sunday Masses, but for many weddings and funerals. She was also a member of the St Ann's Sodality, the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, the KCettes, and was a Birthright Volunteer.

Susie had a deep faith and prayed for her family incessantly. God knows they needed it -- another reason she will be crowned a saint.

Survivors include her seven children and 24 grandchildren: Claudette Hency (Jessica Carey, Michelle Rairigh and Jacob Hency); Ron and Fenena Seyer (Jonathan Seyer, Antonia Seyer, Cesia Watkins and Josiah Seyer); Loraine and Donnie Reischman (Rebecca Lester, James Reischman, Suzanne Anderson, Katherine Businaro, Sarah Seabaugh and Rachel O'Loughlin); Neal and Cindy Seyer (Philip Seyer, Matthew Seyer, Veronica Seyer, Chastity Tragesser and Casey Guzman); Tom and Sherry Seyer (Nathan Seyer, Amber Zito and Chase Seyer); Terry and Cindy Seyer (Caleb Seyer and Claire Kern); and Patrick and Audrey Seyer (Hanna Graczyk, Alyson Roper and Shelbie McClard); two stepgrandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren with four more on the way!

Her husband, parents and six siblings -- Raymond Bucher, Monsignor Philip Bucher, Josepha Reinagel, Marietta Vandermierden, Veronica Westrich and Germaine Bucher -- and two grandchildren, Mary Hency and Chalon Seyer, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Parish prayers will begin at 5 p.m., followed by the Knights of Columbus prayer service.

Join the family for Susie Seyer's celebration of life Mass at 10 a.m. Thursday at Guardian Angel Church in Oran with the Rev. Joseph Kelly officiating, as they home one of God's loyal and faithful servants. Burial will be in the church cemetery following Mass.
