Susie Beatrice Prewitt, 92, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, May 9, 1997, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Services.
She was born Nov. 16, 1904, at Pauldon, daughter of Peter and Dona Mae Huddleston Snell. She and Robert C. "Sherman" Prewitt were married Aug. 4, 1923, in Cairo, Ill. He died March 1, 1974.
Prewitt was a member of the Church of God in Gale, Ill.
Survivors include a son, Ed Walters of Villa Ridge, Ill.; two daughters, Stella Simmons of Thebes, Ill., Mildred Snell of Grand Tower, Ill.; two brothers, Robert and Woodrow Snell of Thebes; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, five brothers, and two sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Earnest Brown officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Thebes.
