TUPELO, Miss. -- Susan Browning Lowes, 33, died Monday, March 1, 2004, at North Mississippi Medical Center, after a sudden illness.
She was a native of Starkville, Miss., and a resident of Tupelo 3 1/2 years. She was a homemaker and a former employee of Peoples Bank & Trust Co.
Mrs. Lowes was a member of First United Methodist Church of Tupelo, and a graduate of Mississippi State University. She enjoyed knitting and playing Bunko, and loved being a mother to her daughter.
Survivors include her husband of nine years, William "Will" Lowes of Tupelo; a daughter, Audrey Elizabeth Lowes of the home; her mother, Nell M. Browning Allen; stepfather, Curtis Clinton Allen of Madison, Miss.; a brother, Steven Phillip Browning and wife Mary Alice Tyson Browning of Jackson, Miss.; a stepbrother, Christopher Wayne Allen of Ridgeland, Miss.; grandmother, Ann Autry Browning of Jackson, Miss.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Guy A. and Jeanne A. Lowes of Cape Girardeau; two brothers-in-law, J. Andrew Lowes and wife Kristine of McKinney, Texas, Guy A. Lowes Jr. and wife Cyndee of Holden, W.Va.; and nine nieces and nephews.
The service will be at 11 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church. The Revs. John Sudduth, Bill McAlilly, Jerry McRaney and Rick Ball will officiate. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Andy Lowes, Guy Lowes Jr., Brad Browning, Stan Browning, Wesley Woitt, Jeff Cook and John Oldshue.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of her Sunday School class, the New Beginnings Sunday School Class at First United Methodist Church.
W.E. Pegues Funeral Home in Tupelo is in charge of arrangements.
