ORAN, Mo. -- Sue Elizabeth Wornica, 88, of Oran died Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at her home. She was born July 21, 1920, in Oran, daughter of Grover Cleveland and Anna Kathryn Miller Ghent. She and William Wornica were married Jan. 26, 1939. He died April 9, 1988...

ORAN, Mo. -- Sue Elizabeth Wornica, 88, of Oran died Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at her home.

She was born July 21, 1920, in Oran, daughter of Grover Cleveland and Anna Kathryn Miller Ghent. She and William Wornica were married Jan. 26, 1939. He died April 9, 1988.

Wornica retired as a machinist at Fansteel Inc. She was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church, St. Ann Sodality and International Association Machinist Union.

Survivors include five nieces and a nephew, Raona Miller Hentz of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Stephanie McCallister Turek of Fenton, Mo., Ramona Harder Cowan of St. Peters, Mo., Tammy Harder Wilson of Fenton, Clifford Harder of Bridgeton, Mo., and Robyn Harder Quinn of St. Charles, Mo.; 13 great-nieces and nephews; and 22 great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Naomi McCallister and Virginia Harder; and a brother, Grover C. Ghent Jr.

She will be especially missed by Brenda Cook and the gang at the O Town Cafe.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time today at Guardian Angel Church.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at the church, with the Rev. Ralph Duffner officiating. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran is in charge of arrangements.
