POPLAR BLUFF -- Sue Beatrice Rodgers, 96, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of New Madrid, died Friday, Oct. 16, 1998, at Westwood Hills Care Center in Poplar Bluff.

She was born Feb. 7, 1902, in New Madrid County.

She was a homemaker.

She married Thurman Leroy Rodgers. He died in 1959.

She was of the Pentecostal denomination and attended Bluff City United Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include three sons, John W. Rodgers of Cape Girardeau, Robert E. Rodgers of Chaffee and Phillip S. Rodgers, address unknown; two daughters, Elsie Walters and Lena Klein, both of Poplar Bluff; a brother, Bryan Jennings Haynes of Cape Girardeau; 19 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons and a daughter.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.

Funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Rev. O.S. Elledge will officiate, with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery at New Madrid.
