LaVonna Sue Priest, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, at Woodland Hills Nursing Home in Marble Hill, Missouri.

She was born March 10, 1938, at the old Saint Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau to Earl and Shirley Dillingham Leasure.

Sue was a 1955 graduate of College High School. She worked as a hostess at the Marquette Hotel and at the Florsheim Shoe Factory as a stenographer.

On May 30, 1958, she married Charles Donald Priest at Old St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau.

She was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church and the Ladies Sodality.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Charles Donald "Don" Priest of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Lisa A. (Ray) Reinagel and A. Suzanne (Larry) Eftink, both of Kelso, Missouri, and Krissi D. (Chris) Davis of Cape Girardeau; and a son, Mark D. (Laura) Priest of Raleigh, North Carolina.

She was a grandmother to 12 grandchildren, Lindsay Reinagel, Lauren Pobst, Clayton, Whitney and Hunter Eftink, all of Kelso, Jackson and Karsyn Andrews and Charleigh and Quinn Davis, all of Cape Girardeau and Ashley, Allison and Andrew Priest, all of Raleigh.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents.

Sue was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and will be missed by her family.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. David Hulshof officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Arthritis Foundation.
