LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Sue Burch Owen, 91, of Lexington died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at Central Baptist Hospital. She was born in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Urban and Blanche Conrad Burch. She was married to Dr. Franklin Owen. She received her B.S. in music from Southeast Missouri State University and was a retired junior high school music teacher...

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Sue Burch Owen, 91, of Lexington died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at Central Baptist Hospital.

She was born in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Urban and Blanche Conrad Burch. She was married to Dr. Franklin Owen.

She received her B.S. in music from Southeast Missouri State University and was a retired junior high school music teacher.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and former member of First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau and First Baptist Church in Gainesville, Ga. She had serves the churches as Sunday School teacher, youth choir director and as a WMU member.

She was the former president of the Southern Baptist Minister's Wives organization.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Franklin Owen Jr. and William Owen, both of Lexington, Ky., John Owen of Winchester, Ky.; a sister, Mary Burch Henson Hopkins of Bloomfield, Mo.; and nine grandchildren.

Friends may call from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at W.R. Milward Mortuary-Broadway in Lexington.

Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. William Simmons and Dr. Robert Baker officiating. Burial will be in Lexington Cemetery.
