It is with great sadness the family of Sue Harrington of Cape Girardeau announces her passing Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018, at the age of 78 years at her home after a long illness.
Sue was born in Villa Ridge, Illinois, to Robert and Maebelle Schultz on Dec. 9, 1939.
She graduated from Cairo (Illinois) High School in 1958. Sue was elected and served as the Alexander County treasurer and later, county clerk.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Richard of 59 years, and her children, Richard Jr. (Tracy) Harrington and Teresa (Nick) Livesay. She will also be fondly remembered by her nine grandchildren and by her sisters, Margaret Fitzgerald and Pauline Whiteside, and brother, Robert (Julie) Fitzgerald.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Maebelle Schultz, and a young daughter, Amy Suzanne in 1962.
Cremation will be accorded.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations in memory of Sue can be made to St. Jude Children�s Research Hospital.
