SIKESTON -- Sue Brunette Emerson, 80, of Sikeston, died Thursday, May 26, 1994, at the home of a son.

She was born May 13, 1914, in Marion, Ill., daughter of T.B. "Dick" and Ruby Swaim. She and H.F. "Frank" Emerson were married Nov. 1, 1934. He died in 1983.

Emerson was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, life member of Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary SEMO Unit 57, and of Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 5368.

She was a past matron of Morley Eastern Star Lodge 342, and had served as president of both the Women's Club and Garden Club at Morley.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Dunaway of Pensacola, Fla.; a son, Stephen Emerson of Sikeston; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Ponder Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Ted Wimberly officiating. A private graveside service will be held at Sikeston City Cemetery.
