Steven Donald Thiele, 58, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014, at his home.
He was born Jan. 17, 1956, in Cape Girardeau to Donald A. and Annabell Cornman Thiele.
He attended Cape Girardeau Central High School and was married to Susan Smith Jackson, mother of his daughters. On Dec. 28, 1998, he married Tammy S. Gregory in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
He was a loyal contributor to the company his father started in 1972, Thiele Concrete and Sons. He went on to become the owner and operator of Thiele Concrete Finishing Inc. in 1984. Steve was very passionate about serving the Cape Girardeau area and took great pride in his work. He had the pleasure of working alongside his wife, Tammy Thiele, on every job.
He was an active member of the Elks Lodge in Cape Girardeau. Steve also enjoyed traveling to the relaxing Caribbean with his wife, Tammy. Although Steve took great pride in his profession, his greatest joy came from his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy S. Thiele; his two daughters, Nichole S. (Chad) Clippard of Jackson and Dwaun T. Thiele of Cape Girardeau; stepdaughter, Rebecca F. Weston of Cape Girardeau; two stepsons, Michael Weston of Cape Girardeau and Dusty W. Weston of Jackson; two brothers, Ronald Thiele of Union, Mo., and Dennis Thiele of Cape Girardeau; one sister, Donna Thiele of Cape Girardeau; and 14 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel with an Elks service at 7 p.m.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel, with Rev. Naamon Eaker officiating.
Entombment will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Teen Challenge International Mid-America or Boy Scouts of America.
