CAIRO, Ill. -- Steven Lee Stavig, 43, of Cairo died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at Union County Hospital in Anna, Ill. He was born Jan. 29, 1959, in Watertown, S.D., son of Edward Milton and Irene Marie Wokenfus Stavig. Stavig was a 1977 graduate of Guymon High School in Guymon, Okla. CAIRO, Ill. -- Steven Lee Stavig, 43, of Cairo died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at Union County Hospital in Anna, Ill.

He was born Jan. 29, 1959, in Watertown, S.D., son of Edward Milton and Irene Marie Wokenfus Stavig.

Stavig was a 1977 graduate of Guymon High School in Guymon, Okla. He worked in the oil and gas industry, and attended Trinity Lutheran Church. He moved to Cairo in 2000.

Survivors include a son, Steven Stavig; five sisters, Donna Adair of Ninnekah, Okla., Barbara Cumiford of Dalhart, Texas, Joyce Nissen of Salt Lake City, Utah, Carol Hartline of Lawton, Okla., Lori Stavig of Hutchinson, Kan.; three brothers, Bill Stavig of Wichita, Ky., Doug Stavig of Durant, Okla., and Roy Stavig of Hutchinson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bunch-Roberts Chapel in Guymon.

Crain Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
