LOS ANGELES — Steven Lance Holbrook, formerly of Scott City, died Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Windsor Gardens Convalescent Hospital in Los Angeles.
He was born March 27, 1959, in St. Louis, the son of Lawrence C. Holbrook and Sandra L. Whitmore.
He attended Scott City High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. After leaving the Marine Corps, he was a disabled veteran and lived in California, Nevada and Missouri.
He was married and divorced with two children, Holly Holbrook of Las Vegas and the late Lance Holbrook. He had two close friends, Becca Craddock of Ridgecrest, California, and Carla Newkirk of Jackson.
Steve will always be remembered for his free spirit and love for his family.
Surviving are his mother, Sandra Lee "Rose" Whitmore of Chaffee, Missouri; brothers, Charles (Tanya Sells-Holbrook) Holbrook of Jackson and Jarrett (Tiffany) Whitmore of Oran, Missouri; sisters, Delores Turner of Gordonville and Valerie (Clint) Stickel of Oran; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Steven was predeceased by his father, Lawrence Holbrook; stepfather, Gerald Whitmore; sister, Geraldine Whitmore; and son, Lance Holbrook.
A service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 23, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
