Steven Hente, 59, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 28, 1963, in Cape Girardeau, the son of Alvin H. and Wyvona Edmonds Hente. He and Wendy Bonney were united in marriage on April 25, 2015, and she survives of the home.

Steve worked as an auto body technician for 30-plus years. He also worked for Nip Kelly Equipment and Cape Auto Sales. Working was a passion of his, and the man could never sit still.

He was a member of Fathers Arms Fellowship Church. He loved spending time with his wife, Wendy, and his son, Kyle. Steve loved floating, swimming and riding his Harley. Taking trips to St. Louis was also a hobby. Steve loved the family fur babies and walked them daily.

Survivors include his wife, Wendy of Cape Girardeau; son, Kyle Hente of Cape Girardeau; two stepsons, Lucas (Lisandra) Anderson and Matthew Anderson; two stepgrandchildren, Isabella and Waylon; two sisters, Vicki Lynn Smith of Scott City and Susan Hente Daniel of Potosi, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Alvin and Wyvona.

A visitation will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, and a celebration of life service will follow at 11 a.m. at Fathers Arms Fellowship Church in Scott City. Dinner will be served following the service. All are welcome to attend.

Arrangements were made under the care of Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Missouri.
