Steven Lee Gum, 42, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at his home.
He was born May 25, 1968, in Cape Girardeau, to Robert and Glenda Wells Gum.
Steven was a graduate of Central High School and Southeast Missouri State University. He did graduate work at Southeast in biology.
He worked for Stowers Inc. in Kansas City, Mo., Washington University in St. Louis, Kansas University, Central Institute for the Deaf, and Nordenia Inc. in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his father, Robert Gum of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Mark W. Gum of East Prairie, Mo., and Scott R. Gum of Kansas City.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Glenda Gum.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
