Steven C. Colyott, 56, of Jackson passed away Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at his home.
He was born May 10, 1953, in St. Louis, son of Norman and Violet Lawrence Colyott.
Steven was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having enlisted in 1972, and was honorably discharged in 1974. Steven was a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University in 1986 with a degree in mass communications and had worked for several years as a real estate agent in Cape Girardeau County and Denver. Steven had also worked in commercial contract security throughout the United States.
Loving survivors include his mother, Violet Colyott of Jackson; three brothers, Michael Colyott of Jackson, Miss., Bruce Colyott of Cape Girardeau and Kevin Colyott of Jackson. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 7 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. Tommy Weems officiating.
Interment will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo., with military honors at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Jackson or American Diabetes Association.
