SIKESTON, Mo. -- Larry Stephen "Steve" Stone, 45, of Sikeston died Monday, Feb. 12, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 17, 1955, at Sikeston, son of Myles Long and Johnnie Barnett Stone. He and Lisa Burton were married May 20, 2000, in Sikeston.

Stone was a truck driver with Dave Roley Trucking of Perryville, Mo. He was a lifelong resident of Sikeston.

He was a member of First Baptist Church at Morehouse, Mo., Bass Club of Cape Girardeau, Eagles Aerie 3319 at Sikeston, and was a volunteer firefighter with city of Miner.

Stone served three years in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Victoria Harris of Walnut Ridge, Ark., Maria Stone of Chaffee, Mo., Megan Stone of Bogalusa, La.; four stepsons, Todd and David Markland and Eric Franklin of the home, Russell Gadberry of Benton, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Tiffany Franklin of the home; a brother, Darrell Barnett of Sikeston; two sisters, Barbara Rehm of Coloma, Wis., Angie Burns of Sikeston; and a grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Dolan Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery, with military rites by the U.S. Marine Corps through the Missouri Military Honors Program.
