Christopher Steven "Steve" Freeland, 64, of Scott City passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016, at his home.
He was born Nov. 26, 1951, in Charleston, Missouri, to Charles and Mary Evelyn Miller Freeland. He and Brenda Carol Johnson were married June 5, 1971. They had been married 34 years when Brenda passed away Jan. 24, 2006.
Steve was a graduate of St. Charles High School in St. Charles, Missouri. He primarily worked in plumbing and most recently in metal working. He liked fishing, St. Louis Cardinal baseball, NASCAR and especially enjoyed being a grandfather.
Loving survivors include five children, Carole (Charles) Hoots of Scott City, Evelyn Freeland (James Jones) of Whitewater, Christopher Freeland of Scott City, Sarah (Michael) Bowman of Cape Girardeau and Emily Freeland (Corey Stoffregen) of Scott City; four grandchildren, Devin and Carly Hoots and Madison and Hayden Bowman; and a sister, Charlene (Gary) Cooper of St. Charles.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings, Kathleen Unland and Jay Scott Freeland.
Friends are invited to attend a graveside memorial service at 3 p.m. Friday in Morgan Memorial Park Cemetery at Advance, Missouri.
Cremation was accorded by McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
