SIKESTON, Mo. -- Stephen Franklin Emerson, 61, of Parkville, Mo., died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, at Veterans Affairs Hospital in Kansas City. SIKESTON, Mo. -- Stephen Franklin Emerson, 61, of Parkville, Mo., died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, at Veterans Affairs Hospital in Kansas City.

He was born Jan. 27, 1940, in Cairo, Ill., son of H.F. and Sue Brunette Swaim Emerson.

Formerly of Sikeston, Emerson played football at Sikeston and Cairo schools.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include two daughters, Jackie Bradbury of Parkville, Rebecca Emerson of Northville, Mich.; a sister, Carolyn Dunaway of Georgia; and a granddaughter.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Park Hill A.A. Hall in Platte Woods, Mo., and at 1 p.m. March 3 at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
