CHARLESTON -- Stephen E. Sanderson, 44, of Charleston, died Monday, May 29, 1995, near the Dogwood community.
He was born Nov. 19, 1950, in Cairo, Ill., son of Warden and Margaret Williams Sanderson. He and Barbara Haley were married Oct. 31, 1988.
Sanderson had lived in Mississippi County since 1988. He owned and operated Sanderson Plumbing and was also employed by Good Humor-Breyer Co. in Sikeston. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and VFW Post 4294. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Stephen Sanderson Jr. of Sumpter, S.C.; his mother, Margaret Belk of Bertrand; two brothers, Warden Sanderson of Cairo, Wayne Sanderson of California; four sisters, Betty Haley of Charleston, Becky Weir of Park Hill, Mary Byrd and Christine Bell of St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Barnhart officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
