Stephen Paul Bey, 82, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at the Missouri Veteran's Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 2, 1919, at Perryville, Mo., son of John E. and Marie Dorrenbach Bey. He and Shirley C. "Shea" Kupferer were married Feb. 3, 1951, at St. Louis.

Bey was a dentist in Perryville until his retirement. He was an Army veteran, serving in both World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, fourth degree Knights of Columbus, the Lion's Club and was a retired member of the Missouri Dental Association.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Carolyn M. Pontillas of Perryville; a son, John Bey of Cape Girardeau; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville from 6-9 p.m. today. Parish wake with the Knights of Columbus will be at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be Tuesday from 6:30-9:50 a.m.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Kevin P. Fausz will officiate, with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.
