SIKESTON -- Stella Slinkard, 91, died Wednesday, April 17, 1996, at Sikeston Health Care.
She was born June 14, 1904, in Marquand, daughter of J.P. and Minnie Whitener Yount. She married Lee Roy Denbow, who died in 1937. She later married Albert D. Slinkard, who died in 1975.
Slinkard had been a cook at several restaurants and also worked at International Shoe Co. in Sikeston. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Morehouse.
Survivors include three sons, P.C. Denbow of Poplar Bluff, Raymond Denbow of Harrisburg, Ill., Doyle Denbow of Puxico; a daughter, Glenda Kelly of Sikeston; a brother, Elbert Yount of Sikeston; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Woodrow Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Yount Family Cemetery at Marquand.
