SCOTT CITY -- Stella E. Held, 89, of Scott City died Tuesday, July 8, 1997, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 16, 1907, at Commerce, daughter of Henry C. and Rosa Bretzel Koch. She and Herman F. Held were married April 8, 1928, at Illmo. He died May 21, 1976.
The Helds owned and operated Model Grocery in Illmo from 1947-72. She was a member of Eisleben Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a son, Bill Held of Atlanta, Ga.; a daughter, Gloria Rose Davis of Scott City; two sisters, Ann Uelsmann of Chicago, Ella Darby of St. Louis; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City after 5 p.m. Friday.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Eisleben Church, with the Rev. Joel Sarrault officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
