Stella Alkemeyer

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Stella Alkemeyer, 90, of Perryville died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

She was born Dec. 20, 1915, at Yount, Mo., daughter of John Henry and Canzada Viola Loberg Biri. She and Willie Herbert "Bill" Alkemeyer were married May 8, 1937. He died Sept. 8, 1989.

Alkemeyer was a member of Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer, Mo., Daughters of Isabella and Blessed Sacrament Sodality.

Survivors include two sons, Leslie Alkemeyer of Perryville, Charles Alkemeyer of Bartlesville, Okla.; a brother, Roy Biri of Doe Run, Mo.; a sister, Metta Fellows of Farmington, Mo.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, two brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, and Saturday from 6:30 to 9:20 a.m. The Catholic wake will be at 7 p.m. Friday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Christ the Savior Church, with the Rev. Felipe Martinez officiating. Burial will be in St. Maurus Catholic Cemetery at Biehle, Mo.
