Stanley Wade Smith, 63, of Jackson passed away Friday, May 20, 2022, at his home. He was born Oct. 4, 1958, in Patagonia, Arizona, the son of Charles and Bonnie Smith. Stan was a 1977 graduate of Jackson High School. He was employed 22 years at Procter & Gamble, retiring in February 2021. In his spare time, Stan enjoyed reading, woodworking, and spending time with his family. He loved animals, especially his cats. He enjoyed visiting with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews...

Stanley Wade Smith, 63, of Jackson passed away Friday, May 20, 2022, at his home.

He was born Oct. 4, 1958, in Patagonia, Arizona, the son of Charles and Bonnie Smith.

Stan was a 1977 graduate of Jackson High School. He was employed 22 years at Procter & Gamble, retiring in February 2021. In his spare time, Stan enjoyed reading, woodworking, and spending time with his family. He loved animals, especially his cats. He enjoyed visiting with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Loving survivors include his mother, Bonnie; his children, Richard (Carol) Smith of Norcross, Georgia, and Daniel (D.J.) Smith of Hanover, Maryland; two grandchildren, Amelia and Alex; six siblings, Michael Keith (Kathy) Smith of Kansas City, Missouri; Melinda (Steve) Standridge of Paducah, Kentucky; Curtis (Stephanie) Smith of Jackson; Allen (Cheryl) Smith of Venice, Florida; Monique (Kevin) Roberts of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; and Melissa (Toby) Honeycutt of Jackson; his former wife, Linda Wooten of Jackson; 17 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Stan was preceded in death by his father, Charles Smith, and his sister-in-law, Mary Smith.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kevin Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Southeast Missouri Pets (formerly the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri) or to Compassion International, an organization for impoverished children.
