LEOPOLD, Mo. -- Stanley Glen Jansen, 61, of Leopold passed away Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012 at his home.
He was born July 3, 1951, in Cape Girardeau, son of Luke Robert and Mary Louise Steinnerd Jansen. He married Marilyn Dell McVay on Sept. 9, 1972 at St. John Catholic Church in Leopold.
Stan worked for Wetterau/Supervalue in Scott City for 25 years. He worked as a field agent for Knights of Columbus Insurance for the past ten years. Stan was a member of St. John Catholic Church, and a 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus 5898.
Stan proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded a Bronze Star for extraordinary service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and being with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; a daughter, Alicia Lincoln; and a son, Derek (Amy) Jansen, all of Leopold, Mo.; grandchildren, Tony Lincoln Jr. of Cape Girardeau, Cole Jackson and Chandler and Caydence Jansen of Leopold; his mother, Mary L. Jansen of Leopold; six brothers, Michael (Marilyn) Jansen of Spring Hill, Tenn., Larry (Sheila) Jansen of Springfield, Mo., Norman (JoEllen) Jansen, Gerald (Leeann) Jansen, Lindy (Cindy) Jansen, all of Leopold, and Richard (Tami) Jansen of Hillsboro, Mo.; three sisters, Pamela (Dennis) Horrell, Sheila (Jeff) Irvin, both of Leopold, and Eva (Kenny) Denton of Jackson.
His father preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at St. John Catholic Church in Leopold. Parish prayers and a Knights of Columbus rosary will start at 7 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John Church, with the Rev. Michael Casteel officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Leopold School Foundation.
