LICK CREEK, Ill. -- Stanley "Steve" Carter, 56, of Lick Creek died Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, at his home.
He was born June 4, 1950, in Anna, Ill., son of Don Wayne and Gladys Irene Mixen Carter. He and Janet Dover were married.
Carter served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He worked as a meat cutter at Kroger's in Marion.
Survivors include his wife of Lick Creek; two daughters, Annette Brock of Dongola and Angela Smith of Highland, Ill.; a son, Scott Carter of Anna; his father, Don Wayne Carter of Lick Creek; a sister, Donna Lyerla of Jonesboro, Ill.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and an infant brother.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Crain Funeral Home in Anna.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Roath officiating. Interment will be in Ebenezer Hall Cemetery.
