Stacy Oran Gearing, 82, of Cape Girardeau, died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born April 29, 1916, at McClure, Ill., son of Joseph C. Gearing and Pearl Dover Gearing.
He married Glendell Drum Oct. 1, 1938, at Illmo. She died Dec. 23, 1973. He married Gloria Strack on Dec. 14, 1974, at Blytheville, Ark. She survives.
He was a member of First Baptist Church. He founded and operated Screen Arts Co. in Cape Girardeau from 1955 to 1979. He was a graduate of Illmo High School and the Academy of Arts at St. Louis. He was a member of the VFW Post 3838 and Elks Lodge 639. He served in the armed services.
Survivors include a son, Rex Gearing, of New Mexico.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
A private graveside service will be held today, with the Rev. John Owen officiating. VFW Post 3638 will conduct a military service.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
