STACK L. MCALISTER

CHAFFEE -- Stack Lee McAlister, 79, of Chaffee, died Tuesday, May 11, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 17, 1913, at Portageville, son of James William and Pearl Newhouse McAlister. He and Eva Rose were married Dec. 28, 1934. She died June 9, 1972. He later married Nora Ellen Dalton March 25, 1976. She died Jan. 25, 1987.

McAlister was a retired heavy equipment operator with Little River Drainage District. He moved to Chaffee in 1984 from Oran.

Survivors include six sons, Eugene McAlister of Perkins, Von McAlister of Scott City, Casey, Fines and Wayne McAlister of Chaffee, Talmas McAlister of Oran; three daughters, Virginia Elfrank, Faye Thompson and Wanda Vogel, all of Scott City; a brother, Felix McAlister of Lexington, Ky.; 27 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, a sister, grandson and great-grandson.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel here. The Rev. William Marshall will officiate, with burial in Union Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.
