MOUNDS, Ill. -- Spencer Eugene Titus, 66, of Mounds died Thursday, May 14, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 2, 1926, at Mounds, the son of Dr. John Raymond and Edna Lewis Titus. He was married to Betty Williamson Titus, who survives of the home.

He was a retired electrician for the Martin-Marietta plant in Kevil, Ken. He also was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the 101st Airborne Division. He was a member of the Caledonia Masonic Lodge #47 A.F.A.M. of Pulaski, and he was a "Kentucky Colonel."

Other survivors include a son, Steve Titus of Cobden; three daughters, Linda Earnhart and Becky Vaughn, both of Bethalto, and Debbie I'Eronimo of Bozeman, Mont.; a brother, Rayburn Titus of Godfrey; and eight grandchildren.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, where funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Eugene Williams and the Rev. Verlee Eaker will officiate, and burial will be in Spencer Heights Cemetery in Mounds.
