GORDONVILLE -- Funeral service for Sophie C. Rohde was held April 8 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in St. Louis, with Dr. August T. Mennicke officiating. Rohde, 99, died Wednesday, April 3, 1996, at a nursing home in Ellisville. She was born May 27, 1896, at Gordonville, daughter of Henry C. and Anna A. Grossheider Gerecke. She and Otto A. Rohde were married Oct. 24, 1926. He died Feb. 12, 1982. They lived in St. Louis all their married life...

She was born May 27, 1896, at Gordonville, daughter of Henry C. and Anna A. Grossheider Gerecke. She and Otto A. Rohde were married Oct. 24, 1926. He died Feb. 12, 1982. They lived in St. Louis all their married life.

Survivors include a daughter, Charlene Wurtz of Ellisville; three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
