Howard L. "Sonny" Kelley, 75, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, at Southeast Hospital.

He was born Sept. 24, 1939, in Ancell (Scott City) to Earley and Muriel Southard Kelley.

Sonny graduated from Central High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University on a scholarship he received for his trumpet playing ability.

He was a cab driver for Kelley Transportation and previously drove a delivery truck for Central High School. He was a member of First General Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother, Muriel Kelley of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Lloyd (Margie) Kelley of Jackson; nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earley Kelley; a brother, Willard Kelley; and a nephew, James Willard Kelley.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Rudolph officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be given to First General Baptist Church.
