SIKESTON, Mo. -- Solomon Ferguson, 65, of Sikeston died Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 15, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio, son of Solomon and Arliler Yarber Ferguson.
Ferguson was a self-employed painter.
Survivors include two sons, Raymond Ferguson of Kansas City, Mo., Andre Williams of St. Louis; two daughters, Tonya Carlis of Texas, and Gabriel Quinn of Charleston.
Also surviving are eight brothers, Jethero and Moses Gater of Sikeston, Ezell Ferguson of Cape Girardeau, Jerry Gater of Kansas City, B.B. and John Gater of Oxford, Miss., Webster and Willie Gater of Chicago; four sisters, Lottie Baker of St. Louis, Ruth Bates of Kansas City, Mary Carothers of Chicago, Martha Carothers of Oxford; and a grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call Wednesday from 12 p.m. until time of service at West End Baptist Church.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Chester Yarber officiating. Burial will be in Sunset of Memories Cemetery.
Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home in Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
