BERNIE -- Sidney Milton Lowe, 87, of Bernie died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, at Dexter Memorial Hospital in Dexter.
He was born Oct. 4, 1911, in Ola, Ark., son of Homer Sidney and Harriet Helen Wilson Lowe. He and Dixie Lee Knotts were married May 2, 1941, at Poplar Bluff.
The Lowes owned and operated a grocery store 16 years south of Bernie. He later was a security guard at Malden Continental Homes nine years.
He was a member of Bernie General Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Aaron Lowe of Parkville; three daughters, Janis Arnette of Excelsior Springs, Sharon Cooper and June Thomas of Independence; a brother, Fred Lowe of Cairo, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, three brothers, and a sister.
Friends may call at Rainey Funeral Home in Bernie from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Arvil Edmonds officiating. Burial will be in Dunklin Memorial Gardens at Kennett.
