ALTO PASS, ILL. -- Sidney A. "Shady" Myers, 76, of Alto Pass died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 1, 1923, at Thebes, the son of Clarence R. and Elizabeth Vanover Myers. He married Floetta Farmer on May 6, 1946, at Jonesboro. She survives.
He was a veteran of World War II and was retired from the Trojan Powder Co. at Wolf Lake.
He also is survived by two sons, Sidney L. Myers of East Cape Girardeau and Dennis Myers of Wolf Lake; four daughters, Shirley Smith of Jonesboro, Vonnie Rogers of Ware, Phyllis Umfleet of Advance, Mo., and Marsha Seabaugh of Advance; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Lutz & Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jim Stamp officiating.
Burial will be at the Alto Pass Cemetery with military honors by the Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 in Anna.
