JACKSON, Mo. -- Shirley M. Short, 72, of Jackson died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 17, 1928, daughter of Frank and Ethel Hollenbeck. She and Norval "Grub" Short were married July 4, 1961. He died Aug. 11, 1993.
Short was a dietary aide at the former Deal Nursing Home many years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a son, David Williams of Du Pont, Wash.; three daughters, Beverly Loucks of Holland, Ind., Paula Botello of Osceola, Ind., Carol Locklear of Jackson; a sister, Jeanette Cotner of Independence, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, a brother, and a sister.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Robert Henrichs will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Fruitland, Mo.
