Shirley Sander

Shirley A. Sander, 71, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 30, 1941, in Washington County, Mo., to Richard and Lila Beeler Myers. She and Franklin J. Sander Jr. were married July 3, 1993, in Cape Girardeau.

Shirley had been a waitress at Sunny Hill and Ramada Inn and also worked at Florsheim Shoe Factory, all in Cape Girardeau. She loved her family dearly.

Survivors include her husband, Franklin J. Sander Jr. of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Anna (Steve) Wills of Fruitland, Debbie (Mark) Westrich of Chaffee, Mo.; a brother, Melvin Pruitt of St. Clair, Mo.; six grandchildren, Tony Borgfield and Shara Courtaway of Cape Girardeau, Amanda Courtaway of Olive Branch, Ill., Emily Cherry of Scott City, Josh Wills and Brittany Sides of Jackson; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ruby Cain.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at noon Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Brett Cheek officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
