ZALMA, Mo. -- Shirley Ann Rhodes, 73, of Zalma died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 13, 1936, at Greenbrier, Mo., daughter of Omer and Lora Cato Wiseman. She and Charles Rhodes were married April 5, 1953.
Shirley was a member of Ladd Chapel General Baptist Church, where she had served as children's puppet ministry leader. In previous church ministries she served her Lord as a Sunday school teacher and children's worship leader.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Rhodes of Zalma; three sons, Mike Rhodes of Neosho, Mo., John Rhodes of Zalma, David Rhodes of Knightdale, N.C.; two daughters, Patsy Hovis of Centennial, Colo., Linda Renfro of Edwardsville, Ill.; a sister, Judy Boland of Advance, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James Edward Wiseman; and a great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Mo.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Mike Rhodes, John Rhodes, David Rhodes and Dusty Whittley officiating. Burial will be in Hurricane Fork Cemetery near Marble Hill.
