PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Shirley Ann Pingel, 78, of Perryville passed away Monday, Aug. 28, 2023, at The Villas of Jackson.

She was born Jan. 6, 1945, in Perryville to Henry J. and Viola B. Hudson Coffelt. Shirley and Robert G. Pingel were married Nov. 30, 1963, in Perryville.

She was a retired pharmacy technician.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Shirley was an avid reader, reading several novels a month. She enjoyed seeing her daughter's lovable goldendoodle, Pemberly. Above all, Shirley loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Dana (George) Dickerson of Jackson; sister, Alma Lee Probst of St. Peters, Missouri; and two grandchildren, Trent Dickerson of St. Louis and Taylor (Austin) Koenig of St. Peters.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Robert Coffelt and William J. Coffelt; and sister, Clara Kohlfeld.

Visitation will be from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 1, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 1, at the church, with the Rev. Joseph Schlie officiating. Burial will be at Home Cemetery in Perryville.

Memorial contributions may be given to Care to Learn in Cape Girardeau.

Ford and Young Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
