Shirley A. Harrison, 85, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, Aug. 30, 2020, at Lutheran Home, surrounded by her family.
She was born March 8, 1935, in Cape Girardeau to F.C. and Dolly Proctor Dankel.
She went to school in Advance, Missouri, and Cape Girardeau Central High School. She also went to Southeast Missouri State University and Stiemer's Business School.
She worked in clothing sales, advertising and food sales.
She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ, where she was on the church advisory board and finance committee.
Survivors include sons, Mark (Marilyn) Proffer and Mitch Proffer, both of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Susan (Edwin) Hotz of St. Petersburg, Florida; grandchildren, Chad (Cortney) Proffer of Cape Girardeau, Luke Proffer of Madison, Wisconsin, Molly Proffer of St. Louis, Taylor (Russ) Brown and Zach Hotz of Nashville, Tennessee; and great-grandchildren, Knox Proffer, Augustus Proffer, Aubrie Holloway, Bennett Brown, Ann Lessley Brown and Patterson Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will follow at noon Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
