OLMSTED, Ill. -- Shirley Crane, 78, of Olmsted passed away at 9:50 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at the Countryside Center in Bardwell, Ky.
Shirley was born June 1, 1935, near Cairo, Ill., daughter of the late Frank Evans and Oma Owens Evans.
Shirley was a member of the Crusaders for Christ Church in Mounds, Ill., and was a member of the New Harmony Singing Quartette for 20 years. She was a homemaker and housewife.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.
Survivors include her husband, Howard "Preacher" Crane of Cairo; two daughters, Carol Crane Bourland of Wickliffe, Ky., and Sheila (Bill) Stout of Olmsted; two sons, Howard Lynn Crane of Olmsted and Anthony Crane of Paducah, Ky.; a brother, Edward (Eddie) Evans of Gage, Ky.; a sister, Betty Cox of Ocala, Fla.; nine grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Friends may call between 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, Ill.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dennis Clark officiating. Interment will be in Smith Cemetery on Feather Trail road near Olmsted.
