PENSACOLA, Fla. — Sherrill "Sherry" Story Maloy, 88, of Pensacola died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024, at her home.
She was born March 12, 1935, in Cape Girardeau to C. Paul and Elsie M. Story.
Sherry graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. She taught elementary school. After earning a master's degree in counseling from Auburn University, she worked as a counselor for the Alabama Educational System.
Sherry and Ray Maloy met 22 years ago and were inseparable since.
She was a beautiful, wonderful wife and friend. Her absence has left a huge hole in the hearts of those who love her. Their world is a lesser place without her, but heaven is brighter. She will always be their angel.
Sherry is survived by her husband, Raymond Lee Maloy; sons, Richard C. (Kim) Carroll II and Bradford S. (Joan) Carroll; brother, Jon Mac (Kay) Story; and sister, April McGough (Alden Carlson). She is also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; older brother, Paul Richard Story; and daughter, Nicole Suzanne Carroll.
Pensacola Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
