OLMSTED, Ill. -- Sherry Ellen Kennedy, 57, of Olmsted passed away at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019, at her home.
Sherry was born Sept. 9, 1962, in Columbia, South Carolina, daughter to the late Phillip and Elizabeth Caudle Bush.
She was a member of the Villa Ridge, Illinois, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, where she served as president; a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Pulaski, Illinois; a member of Olmsted Historical Society; and a member of the Order of Eastern Star Caledonia Chapter 587 of Olive Branch, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip Bush and Elizabeth Crain.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald E. "Butch" Kennedy of Olmsted; daughters, Elizabeth "Betsy" (Larry) Skaggs of Olmsted and Melissa (Elvis) Little of Lake Dallas, Texas; stepfathers, James "Jim" Crain of Cape Girardeau and Donald (Linda) Jones of Mounds, Illinois; brother, Donald (Stacie) Jones of Grand Chain, Illinois; stepchildren, Gene (Cindy) Kennedy of Mounds, Jerry Kennedy of Joliet, Illinois, and Cyndie (Todd) Spaulding of Springboro, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Shirley (Clarence) Foss of Dongola, Illinois, and Dee (Ted) Sullivan of Catlin, Illinois; brother-in-law, Jerry Kennedy of Olmsted; 10 grandchildren, Connor and Isaac Skaggs, Eli, Griffin and McKenzie Little, Ashley (Freddie) Thomas, Brent (Tara) Kennedy and Eric, Elijah and Kadie Spaulding; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Revs. Buddy Walls and Terry Kern officiating. Interment will follow in Mound City National Cemetery in Mound City, Illinois.
