Sheri D. Farmer, 56, of Jackson passed away Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, surrounded by her family, after a long battle with cancer. She was born Sept. 11, 1958, in St. Louis, daughter of Dorman "Fuz" and Louise Kirk Luter. She was happily married to John E. Farmer Jr. 35 years. They were joined in holy matrimony April 12, 1980...

Sheri D. Farmer, 56, of Jackson passed away Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, surrounded by her family, after a long battle with cancer.

She was born Sept. 11, 1958, in St. Louis, daughter of Dorman "Fuz" and Louise Kirk Luter. She was happily married to John E. Farmer Jr. 35 years. They were joined in holy matrimony April 12, 1980.

They moved to Jackson from Breckenridge, Missouri, in 1993, where she lived out the remainder of her life.

Survivors include her loving husband, John; three children, Heather (John) Karnes of Cape Girardeau, Ashley (Duran) Engler of Oak Ridge and Alicia Farmer (Brian Wolfenkoehler) of Jackson; five grandchildren, Nicholas Karnes, Nathan Karnes, Madison Walker, Noah Engler and Elliette Engler; two sisters, Brenda Stone and Marsha (Larry) Miller; nieces and nephews; plus countless family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Larry Miller officiating.

Inurnment will be at a later date.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
