KELSO, Mo. — Shelby "Skip" Lance Steger, son of the late Leo "Bud" and Vera Owens Steger, was born Jan. 27, 1953, in Cape Girardeau and departed his life Friday, June 23, 2023, at his home in Kelso at the age of 70 years.
He was veteran of the U.S. Air Force and had served during the Vietnam War.
On Feb. 14, 1976, he married Charlene Kern at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg, Missouri. She survives.
Apart from his wife, he is survived by one brother, Shannon (Edith) Steger of Chaffee, Missouri.
Skip was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jeffrey Steger; and a sister, Sharon Raines.
Visitation will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, at the St. Lawrence Parish Center in New Hamburg.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg, with the Rev. Daniel Belken officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
