SIKESTON, Mo. -- Shelburne Delaney "Shoddy" Brewer, 92, died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at Homestead Hospital in Homestead, Fla.
He was born Aug. 6, 1909, at Bertrand, Mo., son of George Delaney and Lucy Presson Brewer. He and Dorothy Adelaide Walker were married Nov. 11, 1933, in Sikeston. She died Aug. 23, 1979.
Brewer lived in Southeast Missouri until 1934. He moved to Blytheville, Ark., where he was a salesman with Scott County Milling Co. He later owned and operated a coal and bottled gas business in Blytheville. He was a lifelong member of the Methodist church.
Survivors include a sister, Mildred Gallagher of Sikeston, and a friend, Madeline Bailey of Homestead.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Elmwood Cemetery.
Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville is in charge of arrangements.
