Shelba Reid

Shelba D. Reid, 76, of Jackson passed away Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016, at Southeast Hospital.

She was born Jan. 30, 1940, in Cairo, Illinois, to the late Harry and Virginia Casper Neace. Shelba and Amos "Art" Reid Jr. were married April 11, 1958, at Cape Girardeau.

She was a member of the South Cape Girardeau congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Shelba enjoyed going to yard sales, antiquing, decorating her home and planting flowers, and loved she Scrappy, her canine companion. What brought her the most joy in life was spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Amos Reid of Jackson; daughter, Patty (Mitch) Herod of Cape Girardeau; son, Terry (Sharon) Reid of Mount Dora, Florida; grandchildren Chad Bard, Kerri Jo Marcelo, Sean Bard, T.J. Reid and Alex Reid; and great-grandchildren Kylee and Jamie Wehmer, Lexie and Brooke Bard, and William Reid.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Billy Joe Neace.

Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
