Shawn Eric Bridges, 35, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Tamms, Ill., died Monday, March 26, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 7, 1971, in Cape Girardeau, son of Jackie C. and Lora Haynes Bridges. He married Peggy Sorrels.
Bridges was a former truck driver, and member of Elco Baptist Church. He started the anti-drug "No More Sunsets" The Last Days of a Meth Addict campaign: www.michaeljasonenterprises.com.
Survivors include his wife of Cape Girardeau; a son, Codi Bridges of Cobden, Ill.; two daughters, Susanna Bridges and Maria Sharp of Millcreek, Ill.; his father and companion, Jackie Bridges and Brenda Kuehnert of Cape Girardeau; mother and stepfather, Lora and Randy Swink of Anna, Ill.
Also a stepson, Christopher Robinson and children Atreyu and Tristin Robinson of Cape Girardeau; a stepdaughter, Melissa Robinson and children Lucus and Jacob Summers of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Jonathan Bridges and wife Donna and daughter Elizabeth Bridges of Cape Girardeau; paternal grandmother, Wilma Bridges of Tamms; maternal grandmother, Florence Haynes of Ullin, Ill.; an uncle, Eddie Bridges and wife Pam and family of Marquand, Mo.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Shawn was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Jason Bridges; and grandfathers, Leonard Bridges and Gene Haynes.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau, and from 8 a.m. to service time Thursday at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Jones Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jake Ervin and the Rev. Buddy Walls officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery near Dongola, Ill.
