ROCKVIEW, Mo. -- Sharon Sue Mays, 58, of Rockview died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Oct. 9, 1942, at St. Louis, daughter of Harry and Dorothy Nelson Gibson. She and Thomas Sheppard Sr. were married near Bloomfield, Mo. He died March 10, 1967.

Mays had worked as a cashier for Scott City IGA and had been a clerk in the lawn and garden department of the Cape Girardeau Wal-Mart.

Survivors include a son, Thomas Sheppard Jr. of Rockview; two daughters, Debra Keesee of Cape Girardeau and Kelly Pollard of Highland, Ill.; a brother, Harry Gibson Jr. of Sikeston, Mo.; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Mo.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery near Dexter, Mo.
